Forging virtual connections across the global healthcare industry at Omnia Health Live

16 June 2020

Malaffi is proud to announce its sponsorship of Omnia Health Live, a pioneering event, taking place from 22-26 June 2020 and bringing together the global healthcare community on a scale like never seen before, through a new experience delivered entirely online. Connecting healthcare has never been more vital than it is now for enabling better and safer health outcomes. This is a mission that Malaffi shares with Omnia Health Live.

The COVID-19 pandemic has, in many ways, accelerated the digital transformation of healthcare, and it has shown the real power of connected vs siloed healthcare and the true value of healthcare data for protecting our communities.

Omnia Health Live will provide unprecedented opportunities for professionals, such as medical equipment dealers and distributors, manufacturers, clinicians, procurement professionals, and suppliers to network, and access expert knowledge, wherever they happen to be in the world, ensuring that business goes on amidst COVID-19. It will also bring together policy drivers, thought leaders, expert clinicians, decision-makers to push the boundaries of healthcare's most pressing challenges through collaboration and empowerment.

Highlighting the importance of education and collaboration in times of emergencies, Malaffi’s Chief Executive Officer Atif Al Braiki will take part on 24 June at 8 PM in a much-awaited panel discussion titled “Fragmented Data: Pain points and lessons learned during the COVID-19 crisis”. The session will focus on examining the impact of data fragmentation in health institutions, and how important it is in patient care to be able to answer quickly to emergency and critical scenarios. It will also take a broader look at what lessons can be learned for the future and, specifically, how COVID-19 accelerated data integration in the healthcare system.

Omnia Health Live is also set to host an exclusive line-up of keynotes, featuring some of the most thought-provoking, visionary leaders within the healthcare industry and focusing on big picture aspects that are affecting the healthcare industry. The keynotes include a session by Tom Lawry, who serves as the national director of AI for health & life Sciences at Microsoft. He will take to the stage to define key technology, process, people and ethical issues that must be understood and addressed in order to harness the power of AI across a health enterprise. Other keynotes include a discussion on healthcare transformation in a post-COVID-19 era, delivered by Eric Eskioglu, who is the executive vice president and chief medical officer for Novant Health, and an innovative talk from Dr Jim Merlin, Chief Clinical Transformation Officer at Cleveland in Ohio, USA, on the transformation of the patient experience.
